Perlite Concrete Light weight insulating concrete. Perlite concrete aggregate combined with Portland cement and water produces a light weight insulating concrete used for light weight roof decks, floor fills, light weight structural decks, insulation for steam and coolant lines, bases of cryogenic storage tanks, oven insulation, interstitial spaces in reconditioned water and sewer lines
MoreMasonry Fill Perlite. Expanded perlite provides a quick, inexpensive and permanent method for insulating masonry walls. Depending upon design conditions, reductions in heat transmission of 50 percent or more can be obtained when perlite loose fill is used in the hollow cores of concrete
More2007-11-12 Perlite concrete roof deck insulation is an ideal base for built-up and single ply roofing systems. It has superior wind and fire resistance over other roof insulation materials and with the addition of polystyrene insulation board sandwiched in the perlite concrete, high thermal resistance values are economically achieved.
More2007-11-12 Perlite loose fill has been used to insulate the annular spaces in these tanks, and Perlite concrete blocks have been used for the base insulation of large double wall cryogenic tanks. Perlite concrete blocks have been used to insulate the base of double wall cryogenic tanks to insulate between the ground and the bottom of the tank itself.
MoreBecause of Perlite´s outstanding insulating characteristics and lightweight, it is widely used as a loose-fill insulation in masonry construction. In this application, free-flowing Perlite loose-fill masonry insulation is poured into the cavities of concrete block where it completely fills all cores, crevs, mortar areas and air holes. In addition to providing thermal insulation, Perlite is
MorePerlite plays an important role in a wide variety of construction-related uses including: as an aggregate in lightweight insulating concrete and plaster; as a loose fill insulation material for concrete masonry blocks, cavity walls, in residential homes; and in a variety of specialty
More2016-1-30 New to this site and forum. Thanks for having me. I am starting the process of building an Alan Scott fired oven. Foundation will be poured on Tuesday. I am researching certain things and wanted to know what people thought was a better insulation for the hearth and the outer dome. Vermiculite is almost double the cost of perlite but wasn't sure what the trade offs were.
